Eye Study

This was my second ever oil painting,just a study from a youtube tutorial . Looking at it now I can see where I could have improved. But I decided to leave it as it is because I was happy with it when I ended. Most eyes I create serve as personal measures- to see how much I have improved, and as a symbol to watch my ego and stay humble. Sometimes, for a brief moment after I finished something I think, “wow, I have arrived(as an artist.. wherever they’re supposed to be)”. But it is very brief and sooner than later I look back at my previous self thinking, “wow you really thought you knew it all”. My eyes remind me to watch my thoughts.
